 Pet Policy in the Cabin

As per Southwest pet in cabin, If your cat or dog fulfills the requirements in the Southwest pet fee policy to travel inside the cabin, you will require a pet carrier. The largest size pet carrier that is allowed to be carried on the Southwest plane will be 8.5" high 18.5" long and 13.5" large. If you're traveling using a soft-sided pet carrier then the height must be measured at the point of compression. There must be enough room that your dog can stand and move around inside the carrier. It should be waterproof on the bottom and have enough ventilation.



A maximum of 6 pets are allowed per flight. Southwest pet policy permits one pet carrier per adult passenger. Two small cats or dogs can be transported in the same vehicle in the event that they belong to the same breed.

Pets are allowed:

Small pets, cats, and birds that are house pets

Age

Puppies and kittens should not be younger than 8 weeks old. age.

Route Restrictions:

Pets are not allowed in international travel, including those that go to Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic.

Southwest Airlines will fly pets between Hawaiian islands, but they don't offer assistance to pets who fly to Hawaii.

Reservations

You must inform Southwest Airlines that you are traveling with your pet. Reservations for pets are not made on the internet. The cost for transportation of pets inside the cabin costs $95.00 per way. All flights operated by AirTran will be subject to AirTran's pet policies when traveling in their airplanes. Pets have to be checked in at the ticket counter in the airport However, customers are able to obtain their boarding pass on the internet, at curbside check-in or at the airport kiosk or at the ticket counter.
